An FBI agent who was originally from Ventura County has been identified as one of two agents who died in a training accident.
Stephen Shaw and Christopher Lorek died last Friday, as they were trying to drop from a helicopter to a ship off the coast of Virginia.
The FBI says the helicopter had some type of a problem, and then the men fell to their deaths. A memorial service was held for the agents yesterday, in Virginia.
Shaw grew up in Santa Paula, and was a member of the FBI’s hostage rescue team. He joined the FBI in 2005.
The 40 year old man left behind a wife, and two children.
