Firefighters Conduct Controlled Burns To Try To Reduce Unburned Vegetation In Springs Fire Zone

Posted on Saturday, May 4, 2013 12:01am

Firefighters intentionally set some blazes in the Conejo Valley last night, is part of an effort to reduce the fuel available for the Springs Fire.

Fires were started on a ridge between Ventu Park Road, and Hidden Valley, to try to reduce the amount of unburned fuel. No evacuations were necessary. Firefighters used the same tactic Thursday night to try to reduce the overall fire danger in some areas.
