Two Ventura County man have been arrested, after Oxnard Police say they were unlawfully acting as car dealers.

Oxnard Police, and the DMV conducted a joint investigation into unlicensed vehicle sales.

Police say they had received numerous complaints of cars parked in the downtown area with “For Sale” signs on them, filling customer spaces in front of some businesses. Witnesses say they saw the same men moving vehicles around the area.

Undercover officers from the two agencies negotiated vehicle purchases from the two men, to try to determine if they were acting as dealers.

Joaquin Samano of Port Hueneme, and Ernesto Macias of Ventura were arrested for unlawful dealer activity, and selling vehicles not registered to them.
