Ventura County Supervisor Proposes Ordinance Requiring Condom Use During Adult Film Production

Posted on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 7:00pm

A Ventura County supervisor is calling for a new ordinance to try to discourage adult film production in the county.

County Supervisor Linda Parks is proposing that the county follow in the footsteps of the City of Simi Valley, which passed an ordinance requiring condom use during adult film shoots.

The City of Los Angeles passed a condom ordinance last year, and that’s prompted some adult film producer to look at other areas for making their movies.

The producers say it makes shooting their movies more difficult, and contend it’s unnecessary, because performers are regularly tested for diseases.

If County Supervisors approved an ordinance, it would apply to all unincorporated areas of the county.
