Ventura County firefighters fully contained a brush fire which damaged two homes in the Fillmore area.
The blaze threatened dozens of homes after starting in the Goodenough Road area just after 4 p.m. yesterday, and led to some evacuations. But, firefighters were able to keep the blaze from damaging additional homes. It was 80% contained this morning, and fully contained during the noon hour today.
The estimated amount of acreage burned was reduced, from 170 acres to just under 150.
Firefighters will be on the scene all day today mopping up isolated hot spots. They got a big break with the weather, with the gusty wind that quickly blew the blaze out of control yesterday easing off, to almost no wind at this hour.
