Employee At Residential Care Facility In Santa Barbara County Accused Of Stabbing Co-Worker

A fight between two co-workers at a non-profit residential care facility in Santa Barbara County landed one of them in the hospital, with severe stab wounds, and the other behind bars.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives say the two employees of Hillside House, on the 1200 block of Veronica Springs Road in Santa Barbara, got into an argument juts after 11 a.m. yesterday. The two men challenged each other to fight, and stepped outside.

Investigators say Evodio Garcia picked up a large kitchen night, and began stabbing his co-worker. A supervisor then separated the two. Garcia was was arrested at the scene, and charged with attempted murder. Officials say residents of Hillside House, which works with people with developmental disabilities, were never in danger.
