Santa Barbara County is facing a major crisis with its infrastructure.
County officials say because of the county’s ongoing financial problems, they have fallen way behind in maintenance for roads, buildings, and parks.
It’s now estimated there’s a $300 million dollar backlog in deferred maintenance, with the amount expected to grow exponentially in the next decade if nothing is done to fix the problem.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports county leaders are trying to figure out how to grapple with the problem.
