It was once an important part of South Coast habitat. But, since the 1960’s it’s been a golf course.
In recent years, Goleta’s Ocean Meadows Golf Club has struggled financially.
Now, thanks to the property’s owners, and a coalition of groups, the fairways are going to give way to wetlands which originally existed on the nearly 63 acre site.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports escrow has closed on a seven million dollar deal to buy, and restore the property to its natural state.
