A reserve police officer has entered a guilty plea to a vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated charge for a crash last year which killed an off-duty Santa Paula Police officer.

Christopher Blankenship was driving on South Mountain Road outside of Santa Paula last July when he apparently lost control of the vehicle. Kimberley Hemminger of Oxnard was killed, and two other women were injured. The 33 year old woman had been a Santa Paula Police officer for five years.

The 45 year old Santa Paula man could face up to four years in prison when he’s sentenced in May.
