This is a big day for employees of some Ventura County businesses oriented towards outdoor activities, as they come together to improve part of the County’s environment.

A group known as the Conservation Alliance is spearheading a project today to remove non-native Arundo along the Ventura River, and plant Arroyo Willow.

Some employees of alliance members Deckers Outdoor, Horny Toad, Patagonia, REI, and

Vapur are working with the Ventura Hillsides Conservancy in today’s effort. It’s one in a series of conservation efforts being planned this year by the Alliance.
