Authorities say what started as a routine traffic stop led to the arrest of five members of a motorcycle gang in Santa Barbara County.
The motorcyclists approached the 101 Freeway-Highway 154 interchange around eight Friday night, when a Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputy says two of them ran a red light.
The group was stopped, and deputies say a search turned up loaded automatic handguns concealed in their motorcycle saddlebags.
Investigators say the five are members of the Vagos Motorcycle Club, an outlaw group from San Luis Obispo County. All five people were arrested on weapons charges, with gang enhancements.
