One Adult, Two Teens Arrested After Student Collapses From Drug Overdose At High School In Ventura County

Posted on Thursday, March 14, 2013 10:04am

Ventura County Sheriff’s Department narcotics officers say they’ve arrested one adult, and two teens after they supplied drugs to students at a high school, leading to the collapse of a student.

Authorities were called to Rio Mesa High School, in El Rio yesterday morning by reports that a 14-year-old girl had collapsed, and was unresponsive. They determined she had eaten a marijuana laced chocolate product. The teen was taken to a local hospital, where she was treated and released.

Narcotics investigators say they traced the marijuana product to Kelvin Mathew Rodriguez. They say they arrested the 19 year for an existing felony warrant, sales of marijuana, and using a minor to sell a controlled substance. They also arrested a 14 year old boy, who they say was selling the marijuana products on campus, and a 14 year old girl, who they say bought some of the products, and shared them with three other teens.
