Escrow Closes On Purchase Of Ventura Land For Creation Of New Park

Posted on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 9:53am

Another key step is now complete in efforts to buy the land for, and create a new park in a Ventura County community.

The Trust for Public Land says it’s closed escrow on three pieces of land at Ventura Avenue, and Kellogg Street in Ventura, in a $1.15 million dollar deal.

The City of Ventura will then buy part of the 2.4 acres of land from the trust now, and then lease the rest of the property until it can come up with the money to buy the rest of it.

The non-profit agency, and the city will work together on coming up with funding to develop a park on the property.
The Trust stepped up to help after the land became available, but the city didn’t have the money to buy it outright.
