Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a blaze which heavily damaged a Santa Barbara County home, leaving eight people homeless.
The fire was reported just after four this morning, at a home on the 700 block of Ribera Drive, near Goleta. Santa Barbara County firefighters arrived to find flames shooting from the front of the house, and before they could stop it, it spread to the home’s second floor. It took about 45 minutes to fully contain it. No one was hurt. Fire investigators noted that there were no working smoke detectors in the home.
