For decades, most people have assumed that the mostly untouched, dramatic looking foothills north of Ojai is protected property that’s part of the Los Padres National Forest.
But, the nearly 200 acres of land on the north side of the City of Ojai has actually been privately owned, and zoned for development.
Now, a new deal announced by the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy could protect the property forever, by creating a gigantic new land preserve.
