A move which some people saw as a step towards consolidating the more than half dozen public transit systems in Ventura County didn’t happen as expected.
The Ventura County Transportation Commission has been managing “VISTA” service for years. “VISTA” connects commuters with Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles Counties, as well as linking cities within Ventura County.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports a proposal to let one of the other transit agencies take over management of “VISTA” has been turned down, in what is seen as rejection of the bigger concept of consolidating local transit systems.
