A dog had quite the adventure in Santa Barbara County, after slipping down a 12 inch drainpipe.

Santa Barbara County firefighters were called to Cieneguitas Road, on San Marcos Pass just after 3 p.m. today. They found a dog on a walk had slipped about ten feet down the drainpipe.

Firefighters dropped an oxygen line into the hole, to make sure the 13 year old Brittany Spaniel, named Biscuit, was getting enough air.

They then rigged a sling between two poles, and were able to lower it down, and slip it under the dog, lifting the approximately 40 pound dog to safety.

The dog was trapped for about 45 minutes, but was apparently unhurt by its ordeal.
