The Ventura Fire Department is in mourning over the death of a longtime firefighter, with fire officials saying his death was job related.
John Duff spent nearly 30 years as a firefighter with the city, retiring in 2010 as a result of what Fire Chief Don McPherson called job related cancer.
He received numerous commendations for his work during emergency situations, and severed several terms as President of the Ventura City Firefighters association.
Funeral services are planned for tomorrow afternoon, at Ventura’s Grace Lutheran Church, followed by a procession of fire trucks in a motorcade to Ivy Lawn Memorial Park at around
