UC Santa Barbara’s student newspaper is reporting that the UCSB Waterski and Wakeboard Team has been suspended, over hazing allegations.
The Daily Nexus is reporting an October, 2011 incident in which a student was injured sparked the suspension.
Past team members told the newspaper that there was drinking involved that weekend, which was a violation of policy for a university related event.
Team officials agreed to a two year suspension, but say they were notified last month it would be a four year penalty.
They say it means all of the current team members will have graduated, and could in effect mean its end, with no one left to reorganize it.
