Scientists around the world are calling last week’s spectacular explosion of a meteorite over Russia a wakeup call.
Experts say it illustrates the need for the world to have a better way to detect objects like it.
But, some researchers in the Tri-Counties say just as importantly, we need to develop something to destroy, or deflect objects headed our way.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco talks with the researchers, who have a proposal for a system which they say could protect Earth.
