Joint Memorial Service Planned For Ventura County Couple Authorities Say Were First Victims In Killing Spree By Former LAPD Officer

Posted on Monday, February 18, 2013 12:01am

A couple from Ventura County believed to be the first murder victims of former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner will be remembered at a joint memorial service in Orange County this coming weekend.

Concordia University in Irvine will host the event to remember Monica Quan and Keith Lawrence. Investigators say the couple was killed by Dorner Febuary 3rd, as revenge for Quan’s father’s role in his firing from the LAPD.

Quan and Lawrence both attended Concordia. Quan had worked as an Assistant Basketball Coach at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, and Lawrence was a star basketball player at Moorpark College. The memorial service will take place on Sunday on the Concordia campus.

Dorner is blamed for the murders of Quan, Lawrence, and two other law enforcement officers, and the wounding of two others before he shot himself to death last week.
