A rash of residential burglaries is being reported in one Ventura County community.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department says there have been a number of daytime, and evening thefts in Thousand Oaks, in the area of Erbes Road.
Detectives say in most cases, the burglars are just be walking into homes through unlocked doors.
The burglaries have been quick hit and run crimes, with easy to carry items like jewelry, and electronics being stolen.
Investigators are warning residents to take common sense steps, like locking doors and windows to protect their homes, and to be on the lookout for suspicious activity.
