Ventura County Supervisors Approve Hiring Of Dozens Of New Employees For Healthcare Services

Posted on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 11:38am

Ventura County Supervisors approved the hiring of 61 new employees to handle a boom in demand for healthcare services.

The county’s Human Services Agency is reporting that since 2008, they’ve had a 14% increase in demand for Medi-Cal related services.

They say the federal health care reform act is going to increase the demand for help, and that 45 of the 61 requested positions are related to the additional administrative work which is anticipated.

The additional positions are expected to cost about $3.1 million dollars a year when they’re filled, but officials say additional federal, and state funding will cover virtually all of the costs.
