The City of Oxnard has hired a new Fire Chief, choosing a top firefighter from the Bay Area to fill the vacancy.
James Williams II will take over the post early next month. He’s currently a Deputy Chief with the Oakland Fire Department, and has more than 25 years experience in the public safety field.
He’s take over the post created by the retirement of Joe Milligan in November of 2011.
Michael O’Malia has been serving as interim Fire Chief.
