A state senator representing the South Coast says she’s going to introduce legislation to ban certain types of shotguns.
Democratic Senator Hanna Beth Jackson of Santa Barbara says she wants to see a ban on shotguns with revolving cylinders.
Jackson says the shotguns with rifled barrels, and revolving cylinders are relatively new, but have the ability to fire a large amount of cartridges quickly.
The State Senator says no single bill will solve the problem of gun violence, but that it will help keep exceptionally deadly weapons out of the hands of of the wrong people.
