Ventura County is set to make a key decision this week on what will be the largest single county construction project in history.
County Supervisors tomorrow are expected to approve the issuance of more than $300 million dollars in bonds to rebuild a major portion of the Ventura County Medial Center.
The project will bring the hospital up to more stringent seismic safety codes, and allow the facility to be ungraded with the latest technology.
Plans call for the new hospital wing to be completed in 2017.
The bond proposal actually calls for the issuance of up to $360 million dollars in bonds, which includes refinancing some existing debt at a better rate, and creating a reserve fund.
