For the first time in years, California may be in a position where it can approve a new budget without a major crisis, or massive new cuts.
In his “State Of The State” address yesterday, Governor Jerry Brown said the state is in the black, and on the comeback path.
He’s proposed a new budget which includes billions in additional funding for schools, holds the line on tuition hikes for higher education, and increases spending on social services.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco has highlights from the speech, and talks with a local political observer about the governor’s proposals.
