A donuts and coffee chain which is hugely popular on the East Coast is coming to Southern California, including Ventura County.
Dunkin’ Donuts has announced plans to open 150 stores in six Southern California counties.
The company says it could eventually have as many as a thousand of the shops open statewide.
It’s not the first time Dunkin’ has tried to get a foothold in the state. It once had several stores in the state, but pulled out in the late 1990’s after the chain failed to develop traction..
Dunkin’ already does big business in the California, with its packaged coffee available in supermarkets. It also owns more than 450 Baskin-Robbins ice cream stores in the state.
