An education leader in Santa Barbara County has been appointed to the State Board of Education.
Governor Jerry Brown selected Niki Sandoval for the state panel. Sandoval is Education Director for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. Sandoval has a Master’s Degree from George Washington University, and a doctorate from UC Santa Barbara. She’s worked for the Smithsonian Institution.
Sandoval was appointed by the governor to a three year term, with the appointment still subject to confirmation by the State Senate.
