You don’t need to hear the weather forecast to know it’s cold.
But, farmers in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties have been following the forecasts closely, because of the danger it poses to crops.
In fact, with temperatures dropping into the low 20’s in some areas,
many growers have been working through the nights to try to keep crops like lemons, and tangerines from freezing.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco talks with some of the farmers about the crisis they’ve been facing, and when they may finally see some relief from some of the coldest temperatures in years.
