The body of a man police believe was a transient has been discovered at a makeshift campsite just off the 101 Freeway, in Santa Barbara.
Santa Barbara Police say another transient discovered the body, and stopped a passing patrol car yesterday afternoon. Officers say they found an elaborate campsite set up in the bushes just off the freeway near the northbound Arrellaga Street offramp.
The cause of death hasn’t been determined, pending an autopsy, but investigators say they found evidence indicating drugs may have been a factor.
The name of the 41 year old man hasn’t been released yet, pending notification of relatives.
