A Ventura County community could be a lot closer this morning to hiring a new city manager.
After a consulting firm helped narrow a field of applicants for the Ventura City manager’s post from 38, to nine, the City Council interviewed the semifinalists over the weekend.
The council is trying to pick three or four finalists for more in depth review, before making a decision.
They’re looking for a replacement for Rick Cole, who resigned last fall after the council made it clear it had different goals than the longtime city manager.
