Police are still trying to figure out where what appeared to be military ordinance came from, which caused a scare in Ventura.
An alert person noticed the device in a field near the intersection of Henderson, and Petit around 9 Sunday morning.
They called Ventura Police, who sealed off the area as a precaution, and in turn brought out the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad for assistance.
Bomb squad members retrieved, and secured the device, which appeared to be inert.
