Authorities Identify Man Shot To Death In Ventura County By CHP Officer Following Pursuit

Authorities are now identifying a Ventura man shot to death by a CHP officer, following a pursuit along the Rincon in Ventura County.

It started just after 2 p.m. Saturday, when an officer tried to stop a speeding motorcycle which was southbound on the Pacific Coast Highway, in the Faria Beach area.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, which is handling the investigation, says the motorcycle tried to speed away, but crashed on nearby Padre Juan Canyon Road.

Investigators aren’t releasing details about what they think happened next.

The Sheriff’s Department says the motorcyclist was shot, and killed by the officer.

He’s being identified as 58 year old Theodore Keiper.
