Leonardo DiCaprio To Be Honored By Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Actor Leonardo DeCaprio is going to be honored during the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, which opens January 24th.

DeCaprio will receive the festival’s American Riviera Award. DeCaprio stars in the currently showing movie “Django Unchained,” and the upcoming remake of “The Great Gatsby.” His breakthrough movie was the global smash “Titanic,” and he received critical acclaim in other major movies like “Catch Me If You Can,” “The Departed,” and “J. Edgar”. DeCaprio is a three time Academy Award nominee.

The festival’s Riviera Award is presented to artists with strong influences on American cinema. Past winners include Philip Seymour Hoffman, Tommy Lee Jones, Annette Bening, and director Martin Scorsese. DeCaprio will receive the award in a February 1st ceremony at the Arlington Theater.
