Fire Damages Downtown Santa Barbara Building (Photo By John Palminteri)
A fire this afternoon sent smoke billowing over downtown Santa Barbara, as it damaged a vacant commercial building.
The fire was discovered just after noon on the 500 block of Chapala Street, just a few blocks from Santa Barbara’s main fire station. It took firefighters a little over a half hour to fully contain the blaze.
No one was hurt. There’s no word on how much damage occurred. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
