A Santa Barbara man who starred in more than 100 films, including some classic John Ford-John Wayne westerns has died.
Harry Carey Junior died of natural causes on Thursday. Carey appeared in acclaimed movies like “She Wore A Yellow Ribbon,” “Red River,” “Big Jake,” and “3 Godfathers.”
Carey grew up in the movie business. His father was legendary silent film star Harry Carey, Senior. He became part of John Ford’s crew of actors the director used in numerous westerns, and was known for his skills as a real horseman.
Carey was 91 years old.
