The body of a man who disappeared on an overnight camping trip in the Channel Islands has been recovered, with authorities saying he apparently fell off a cliff.
Christopher Anthony Mondiek failed to return from Santa Cruz Island over the weekend.
Bad weather blocked search efforts Monday, but Ventura, and Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue team members found the 23 year old Ohio man’s body on a beach yesterday morning.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death, but say initial information indicates it was an accident.
