It was a memorial service for some people who died this year in Ventura County, but were virtually forgotten.
A community memorial service was held in Ventura’s Plaza Park yesterday afternoon for the 14 homeless people who died in the county in the last year.
The event was intended to be a memorial service for those who didn’t have one, as well as to call attention to the plight of the homeless in the county.
Estimates are that there are nearly 2000 homeless in the county on any given day.
