It’s a big week for the Port of Hueneme.
The Ventura County facility is a big import, and export hub for vehicles.
Last night, the one millionth Honda built in the U.S. for export passed through the port, for shipment to South Korea. Honda officials from around the country were in Ventura County for a ceremony celebrating the event.
The export of the 2013 Honda Accord made in Marysville, Ohio comes 25 years after the first overseas shipments of Hondas made in the U.S.
More than 21,000 vehicles were shipped from the Port of Hueneme during the last fiscal year, a 10% increase over the previous year.
