A man suspected of stealing a car is behind bars, after an early morning chase, and a search which created some scary wake up calls for a Ventura neighborhood.
At around 12:30 a.m., officers on patrol spotted a stolen vehicle being driven on the 100 block of Winford Avenue. As they tried to pull the car over, it sped away, finally stopping on the 1600 block of Nevin Avenue, where he fled on foot.
Police wern’t able to catch him, but set up a perimeter in the neighborhood, and started a search.
A K-9 found Travis Threadgill hiding in a backyard shed. Officers say he resisted arrest, but was taken into custody with the help of the dog.
The 32 year old Ventura man was arrested for auto theft, resisting arrested, and for a parole violation.
