Ventura County officials are set to consider approval of a nearly $15 million dollar project to improve documentation, and monitoring of its finances.
County Supervisors today will look at a project to modernize the county’s financial management system. In 1997, the county first moved to integrate which was once 18 separate financial management systems used by its agencies. There have been upgrades since, but officials say a major overhaul has been needed for years.
The project includes new hardware, software, and consultants need to get the system operational.
The completed project is expected to give the county enhanced abilities to track, monitor, and report financial information, and will result in some operational cost savings.
