Students in the Santa Barbara School District are going to get part of academic year they lost to budget cuts back, thanks to the passage of Proposition 30.
School district officials have reached an agreement with teachers, and staff to restore five furlough days as paid work days.
They say thanks to the funding, this year’s school year will be go from 175, to 180 days.
The 2012-2013 school year will now end on June 6th. The district will have to adjust its already set calendar for end of the school year events, like graduation ceremonies.
