A Santa Barbara architect known for both his award winning work, and involvement in community projects has died.
Barry Berkus died as the result of an undisclosed illness. Berkus founded, and was president of Berkus Design Studio, and B3 Architects. He, and his team took on projects ranging from single family homes, to businesses, to entire community development, and his firm has at times had offices across the country, and around the world. Projects under the Berkus banner have won more than 300 architectural awards.
Berkus was 77 years old.
