A new affordable housing project designed to help Ventura County’s low income residents officially opened over the weekend.
Azahar Place is a 60 unit apartment complex on the 11000 Mimosa Street in Ventura. The non-profit Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation built the development, which is intended to serve low income families, some of which are designated for farmworker families.
The complex is a platinum level LEED certified project, which means that it was designed, and built with materials to achieve a high level of energy efficiency.
