Crime Fiction Writer James Ellroy To Speak In Santa Barbara Tonight

Posted on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 12:51am

He’s written some of America’s best known crime novels, like “The Big Nowhere,” “L.A. Confidential,” and “The Black Dalia.”

James Ellroy has brought to life some of the darker aspects of our society, through his novels, and screenplays.

Some of his stories are pure fiction, while others are spun around real crimes.

Ellroy is headed to the South Coast tonight, where he’ll speak about the “Black Dalia” murder, which has some little known ties to Santa Barbara. He’s speaking at 7:30 p.m., at Santa Barbara City College’s Garvin Theater.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco talks with the author about his writing.
