The first meeting has been set for the new governing board for Ventura County’s newest school district.
Earlier this month, voters approved merging Santa Paula’s elementary, and high school districts.
The newly elected governing board will meet for the first time on December 5th, at the Santa Paula Community Center
The board is expected to act on some basic issues, like setting a schedule of meetings. Ultimately, though, it will have to deal with some bigger questions, like selecting a new superintendent, and deciding on a name for the new district. The two current districts will run independently until the end of the current school year, when they will be merged, and the new governing board will officially take control.
