For the first time since the 1980’s, two Ventura County school districts are going to merge.
On November 6th, voters in Santa Paula approved “Measure M’, to combine the Santa Paula Elementary School District, and the Santa Paula Union High School District.
It’s not a quick, simple process though.
In fact, while the school boards for the two existing school districts continue to oversee their operations, early next month a new school board will meet for the first time to start planning the transition.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco talks to Ventura County’s top educator, who explains the process which will occur between now, and the final transition next summer.
