An internationally know music festival based in Ventura County is going to have a dancer, and choreographer as its Music Director for the first time in its nearly seven decade long history.
The 67th annual Ojai Music Festival will be guided by Mark Morris.
Morris has his world famous dance company, and among other things has worked with the Metropolitan Opera, the English National Opera, and has been honored with a MacArthur Fellowship.
The lineup for next June’s festival will include the Mark Morris Dance Group, the American String Quartet, plus musical icons like Lou Harrison, John Luther Adams, John Cage, Henry Cowell, and Charles Ives.
