The Ventura School District has received a more than $90,000 dollar federal grant to expand efforts to use locally grown foods in schools.
The Farm To School program is intended to help schools purchase food from local growers, to try to insure better produce for students, and at the same time help local growers. The program also helps with educational efforts, so children better understand where food comes from, and how it’s produced.
